Undergraduate Research Expo Series: Jordan Klein

On September 14th, we hosted our first Undergraduate Research Expo. Eleven students from Tufts, MIT and Harvard held short Ted-Talk style on a topic of their choice. Here is the profile of presenter Jordan Klein

Jordan is a student at Tufts majoring in international relations and biology. His interests include global health, international development, biomedical sciences and entrepreneurship. This summer, he got the opportunity to work with Lyme disease in the molecular microbiology lab at Tufts Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences.

Jordan presented on his summer research on Borrelia burgdorferi, the agent for Lyme disease. He researched  on the role that adhesin proteins play in facilitating B. burgdorferi’s establishment and maintenance of infection in the mammalian host.
