Undergraduate Research Expo Series: Maya Emmons-Bell

On September 14th, we hosted our first Undergraduate Research Expo. Eleven students from Tufts, MIT and Harvard held short Ted-Talk style on a topic of their choice. Here is the profile of presenter Maya Emmons-Bell:

Maya Emmons-Bell is a junior at Tufts studying biology. Her independent research has aimed to elucidate the role of bioelectricity in shape and morphological patterning during regeneration process. Specifically, she has researched this topic on the planarian flatworm. Maya, a Beckerman Scholar, discussed current research in developmental and regenerative biology, experimental design processes and membrane voltage imaging protocols.
